The screening was in a large room, very dark with multiple screens showing various outdoor, tropical scenes. The main screen also has multiple screens, 3 layers the main was the film chosen by the practitioner.
- The ivy framing the screen was a nice touch, it was a small something that pushed the forest aesthetic from being digital and 2D to a real, tactile object.
- It felt like it could be pushed further to really create the feeling of being in a rainforest, having more plants surrounding the room. - The multiple screens with the music created a really relaxing environment. The inclusion of the mac screens was highly effective, it made me feel as though I was looking into different windows, it kind of had a pet shop vibe too.
- The main screen showing the documentary broke the zen feeling surrounding the screening as you could see the desktop, it snapped you out of the make believe rainforest and brought you back to reality.
- Could've used pieces of tape to block the gaps on the projector, could also provide a soft edge around the videos.
POSTER
The poster was a really interesting idea, it further the feeling of looking into a window, similar to the effect of the mac's during the screening. The effect does stop by around the 4th poster as the resolution is quite low so you lose a lot of the detail in the image, including the information on the screening.
The inclusion of the ivy was a nice way to include a pop of colour as well as stop the poster being just 2D, but it did come across as a bit of an afterthought due to the presentation. The leafs were added with masking tape in a hap hazard kind of way, if the tape was different I think it could've helped improve the presentation.
