-The idea is clear and shown well, the presentation makes it obvious what the purpose is.
-Rationale makes sense and tag line works due to its simplicity
-The illustrations make the idea engaging and interesting choice of materials.
-The tags are interesting and create a cool logo for the Instagram
There is a clear problem with a simple solution which works well.
Are the tags put on other peoples bike to spread awareness? Or just certain bikes?
I would change the illustrations on the Instagram to match the tag colour and just have the green and black illustrations I think this will make It more cohesive. Really like the real-life photo on Instagram, could include more of them. On the step one if you use the colour green can experiment and maybe have the background in green and type in white to create variation. On the ‘how to fix a bike puncture’ i would keep the type straight as it links in with the logo and the other posts OR change the other posts to match the wonky type so its more cohesive. Really like the logo.
-really like the illustrations and collage visuals on the Instagram
- maybe change the blue colour paper collage on the wheel post to a lighter blue as the word’s aren’t very visible as it’s too dark
- the post with the instructions are quite plain, maybe consider using the same collage image illustration method to keep the aesthetic consistent
- quite like the tag idea as it’s interactive with people however a bit iffy about how people might react to having their bikes tagged? (probs just me lol).
Response:
- The suggestions about continuity within the colour scheme is something to engage with, could go back to earlier ideas of having different coloured tags to attach to bikes so different posts would correspond to a label colour.
- Agree that the instructions post of the Instagram looks minimal compared to the rest, could have a theme of paper cut running throughout the project so this could be used within the post.
- Having the 'how to fix a puncture text:' straight would again increase the continuity within the design, people suggested it didn't link to the rest on the Instagram. OR have the 'Step 1:' also in the same cut out, playful vibe.
- People liked the simplicity of the idea and account, positive feedback we can continue to produce throughout the project.
- Draw the illustrations in fine liner to avoid weird blobs.
Ali & Pat Crit:
- Educational animation, experimenting with the childlike paper cut illustrations.
- Would really like to see a physical outcomes such as a kit or stickers.
- Experiment with videos, e.g. 'tasty' table top instructional videos. 7
- Liked the playful type on 'how to fix a puncture', works well with the vibe of the Instagram. Maybe add to the 'Step 1:' to provide more continuity.
Action Plan:
- Redo illustrations with a similar coloured paper to the lock labels.
- Do more issues: Fix a snapped chain, bike maintenance (de-rust, clean your bike properly), road safety, top tips for locking your bike safely.
- Instructional text being on same paper stock as illustrations with playful type.
- Animations of fixing a bike with paper, stop frame? Like educational animations.
