Rotterdam Boijmann Gallery Visit

Co Westerik

The description in the books talks about the artists day, almost as a diary. Allows he work to be viewed in response to his emotions.
Video of him painting demonstrated a strong sense of working to his own needs and opinions.
Details in the skin reflect interest.

Bauhaus

Oskar Schlemmer:

- lithograph sketches
Simple design, appears almost musical due to shapes and lines.
Colour palette compliments the shapes made in black.

J
oist Schmidt:

The presentation of word alongside shape is really interesting.
The colour palette again similar to previous, adds lightness to an otherwise harsh image.

Wayfinding in the exhibition space:

all link up all based off of a map (timeline).

L
ajos D'ébnett:

Collage cut outs, cut then stuck again, adds a sense of depth to the image not 2D while remaining in the frame

J
ettie Olivier:

Christmas and New Years cards
Love the colour palette, not traditional but consistent.

Franz Ehrlich - invitation to Bauhaus carnival:

Dick Eiffers:

Paul Schuitema:

Poster for exhibition of international advertising design at stedelijk.
Again collage and presentation of type.

Here the formatting of 15 photos compliments all very well. Makes a mundane more interesting though simple formatting.

Layout, use of colour. More sophisticated outcome, refined through type and colour palette.
