Creative Report - OK-RM, In Other Words

In Other Words:

(RE)PICTURE is an independent magazine with the intention of reproducing the visual imagination.
The special edition is wrapped in washi paper and includes an A1 silkscreened and hole-punched poster. There are 5 variations of the poster, one for each artist, each offered in an edition of 30.

> The application of the imagery is fascinating within these publications designed by In Other Words.
- The approach to the book form is fairly typical but the way the images are presented to the audience makes you look harder and deeper into the publication.

- The cropping and blurring of the images is particularly interesting, again making the audience more inquisitive and begin to ask questions.
> Thinking about the application within own publication, having that inquisitive nature incorporate would be a really interesting idea to toy with.
- Could be done through unique crops or simply having images span various pages.

OK-RM:

> This publication is one that definitely makes the audience look further into the design aspect.
- I think this is something important that I should try to incorporate, the content is about creatives so the format should match.
> The unfolding element is what is most captivating. It give the audience the option to flick through it as it is or unfold and discover more.
- This should definitely be tested as a design aspect, the two ways of viewing the magazine are very representative of the ways I think the design scene in Sheffield can be viewed.
> Having full page spreads as well span across the folds furthers the idea of not being able to see the full picture until you put some effort in.

What to do next:
- Think about layout within the magazine.
- Research into Sheffield history to develop a format.
