What could we do to benefit Leeds' creative environment?
What is missing in Leeds?
> Cheaper opportunities
> Lack of workshops in Leeds
> Skill swap/knowledge - free resource
> Low pressure creative events
> Accessible community space, 8p per hour with facilities there, duke studios? With workshops on a specific day? Pay and display.
> Rapid fire workshops (subscription based) basic supplies, paint, pens, paper develop a quick portfolio
> Process based, not focusing on the outcome
> Creative get together for uni students
> Secret graphics club, skill/resource share
> A way to tie to local community to students
> Low stress and low budget creative events
Creative Space in Leeds
made by today
- contact her with an idea for a space wanting it to be used as a studio space for creatives as well as herself, people would pay to use the space daily or hourly etc.
Wanting to have a space for creatives in Leeds, wanting to make a community of creative people within Leeds.
Spoken to Searlait at made by today and she said she'd be interested in talking more about the idea, and potentially using her studio space as a pop up.
Thinking of developing something along the lines of Ziferblat in Manchester that Peggy went to, where you pay 8p per minute per person to be in the cafe, everything else is free. Thinking about developing this idea, translating it to a studio space rather than a cafe, allowing people to avoid committing to a 6 month rent contract etc.
