Discussion with Searlait showed us she was able to have 10-12 people fortnightly for a crit.
DIGITAL: Website/tickets/social media - Tasha, Lanie, Charlie
PHYSICAL: Posters/crit equipment - Rosie, Zoe, Danielle
Event Organising/logistics - Evie, Peg, Georgia
Logo/colour scheme/branding - everyone decide today
A free fortnightly crit event held in today studios with an online presence to encourage the growth of the creative community in Leeds.
Feedback:
Collage, making the promotional stuff appear more collaborative - Helena's it caught my eye as a reference?
Ways to make it more accessible.
Make it more like social element to it, could do crit, then have a round off event of people making visuals for the next crit event (bring own materials for it).
- maybe to make it a submission box on the website, rather than happening in the sessions, don't necessarily need a design workshop type thing to encourage people to socialise.
- think about things like werkschall konstanz 2019 identity, and slow down studio.
Things to Think About:
Audience - know what a crit is or not?
get the sence of bringing anything to get feedback on it.
Want it to be outside of uni, create the sense that we have in uni but outside.
Website - all the reasons as to why you'd attend.
Provide a reason to make the work, an exhibition, a talk, a discussion, a event etc - again workshops, discussing practice (be ticketed which could fun exhibitions).
To Do:
- Look into potential exhibition spaces think about what Searlait said in talk.
- Think about the applications of this, could we have an event held regularly, visiting speaker etc.
